What is the "Faith OF Christ"? What does it mean to be "Christ-Like?

Updated: Mar 15, 2023

The Faith of Christ is easy to explain.

We know faith is a combination of actions and beliefs.

Christ faith was in the rules of the Father, Old Testament Laws. He lived them everyday for his entire life without breaking any of the rules. This is what made him sinless.

1Jo 2:6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. (Christ walk was: he believed he was the Son of God, he believed in all the laws of the Father, and because of that belief he kept the commandments of the Father.) That is the simple definition of a Christ like walk.

His belief led to his actions which is what allowed him to be our Savior, and to be resurrected by the Father.

So if we are to have the faith of Christ, what does that mean?

That means we should strive to live our lives as He did, in obedience to the commandments of the Father believing that His law is right, pure, just, righteous, and liberty. And to put those beliefs into action. To produce good works or deeds, by acting out the commandments of the Father like Christ did.

Scriptures tell us that we are not saved by our actions alone nor by our belief alone, but by actions and beliefs as Christ showed us in His example.

If we read the scriptures, believe what they say in our hearts and minds, then we will want to act as they command us to. This is being circumcised of the heart

This sums up having the Faith of Christ and keeping the commandments.

It is not enough to believe in Christ and who he was, we must also have the Faith OF Christ, and keep the commandments to gain salvation, life eternal.

Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

link to another article that explains why we should keep the commandments of our Father.

Most of us live our lives based on what we think the Bible says based on what we've been told by a religious leaders. We never ask the Father to lead us to the truth, and take the time to see for ourselves what it truly says and means.

We read lines in the Bible and take them at face value not knowing the context, background, or history in which they were written, based on what the church guy says it means, granted some are harder to see the truth in because we have been taught wrong for so many years. In most cases those teachings are good enough for most people.

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
Mat 19:29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
Mat 21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:

Let us use some basic logic. If we are to have the Faith OF Christ to gain salvation, which is having a heart and mind to follow the Law of God as Christ did, why would Paul tell us we do not have to have the Faith of Christ? Why would he say we do not have to keep the commandments of the Father?

He DIDN'T, that is just what we've allowed people to convince us of. He would have been an antichrist if he had.

We've have again fallen to the lie of Satan. Surely you wont die!

Most don't want to even consider it.

Why?

Denial that they believed a lie. That they lived their life and shared with others this lie. Denial that they misread, misunderstood, and were misled of what the scriptures were actually saying.

It is easier to get someone to believe a lie than to convince someone they've been lied to already.

Others like the life they have without the Law of God. If the accept that the Father expects the same from that New Covenant Christians under ONE FAITH to have the same expectations of Old Covenant Jews (Jew and Gentile) they would have to change their lives, and most are NOT willing to make those sacrifices.

They will be the ones that say Lord Lord on the last day, and He will respond with Depart from me for I never knew you!

And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.

The old and new testaments both say salvation has always be given to those who believe and obey. One without the other is not salvaltion.

Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
Heb 11:8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
Heb 11:17 By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,

There are only 2 kinds of faith. The ones that have the faith of Christ and keep the commandments of the Father, and those who don't. This is all the Father sees.

All the branches, denominations, sects, religions ect mean nothing to the Father.

Protestant churches are no better than Hindu's, Muslims, or Buddhist in the eyes of the Father as neither have the faith of Christ (belief that leads to actions) nor keep the laws of God.

This will be an impossible concept for most protestant followers, as most of them are addiment that their faith (beliefs into actions) are Biblical.

This statement falls on the 7th Day Adventist's as well. Most of them do not keep the Holy Days of the Father, they only keep the weekly Sabbath. They observe the Holi days of the world instead.

He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
This scriptures doesn't say to keep some of the commandments.

We can not pick and choose which commandments to keep and not keep. We must follow all of them except the ones Christ ratified which are sacrifice and oblations, corporal punishment, and Levitical priesthood as Christ is our sacrifice and oblation, Christ is our High Priest, and Christ said ye who are without sin cast the first stone, and turn the other cheek.

I used to include circumcision in this list, but have come to the understanding that the Lord would prefer us to be circumcised of the heart first, and not participate in the Jewish Rituals they built around the circumcision process. Once we believe on the words of God our desire will be to fulfil the commandments which include physical circumcision. The reason for this is scriptures describe that a circumcised man will be counted as uncircumcised if his heart is not also circumcised and vice versa. It's not the act alone the Lord is looking for, it is FAITH which is first belief that leads to the action.

Walk in the footsteps of Christ, Live your life as Christ lived his, Have the Faith OF Christ, Believe as Christ believed, Be Christ Like. What does this mean?

Christ taught and kept the law from the Old testament. Christ taught to first believe and then act on those commandments given by the Father.

We are taught that we should live Christ-like, that we should follow after Christ, to pick up our cross and follow him, that we are Christ-ian which means walking the same walk, BUT in the same breath are told we do not have to live like Christ, we don't have to keep the same laws he kept, we don't have to walk like him.

This faith is a contradiction, have you ever noticed?

When the Bible says to live in newness of life, that we become a new creature, to not be conformed to this world this is describing those who believe, and keep the commandments of the Father. We are to be a set apart people. To be the light and salt of the earth.

Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. (meaning that we should leave sin, law breaking behind, and take on the newness of life with obedieance to the law.)
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.

(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. (to keep the laws of God)
Eph 5:2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
Eph 5:8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.
Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.

That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.

Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more.
1Th 4:12 That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.
2Th 3:11 For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.
2Pe 2:10 But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.
1Jo 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
1Jo 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
1Jo 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
1Jo 2:3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
1Jo 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
1Jo 2:5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

2Jo 1:6 And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it. (meaning from the beginning of time, not the beginning of Christ ministry and to keep the Fathers commandments.)

3Jo 1:4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

Rev 3:4 Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.
Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.

Rom 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. (What is acceptable to God? living by his laws)
Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Col 3:4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
Col 3:5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
Col 3:6 For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
(law breakers)
Col 3:7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.
Col 3:8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
Col 3:9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
(old testament commandments)
Col 3:10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: (Christ like, living your life as Christ lived his in belief and obedieance to the law)
Col 3:11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.

Jas 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
Jas 1:23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
Jas 1:24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
Jas 1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
Jas 1:26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.
Jas 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

Eph 4:1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
Eph 4:2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
Eph 4:3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Eph 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
Eph 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
Eph 4:6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
Eph 4:7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
Eph 4:12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
Eph 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
Eph 4:14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
Eph 4:15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
Eph 4:16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,

1Th 2:10 Ye are witnesses, and God also, how holily and justly and unblameably we behaved ourselves among you that believe:
1Th 2:11 As ye know how we exhorted and comforted and charged every one of you, as a father doth his children,
1Th 2:12 That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.
1Th 2:13 For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

How are we being set apart?

We have established that the Catholic Church is the antichrist beast system spoken of in the Bible. They changed the times and laws of God removing the command thou shalt not bow to graven images, and moved the day of rest from the 7th day to the 1st day.

Most "Christan" religions keep Sunday as the day of worship, and none observe any day for a day of rest where no work is done, no money is spent Except Seventh Day Adventist.

There are many people, Satan included, who believe Christ was real and who he claimed to be. Do you think Satan will get life eternal?

According to most peoples belief this is the belief portion of salvation. They believe that if you believe in Christ and are generally good to others that you will have life eternal. This is not biblical as I have just shown you.

The Lord sees those who believe and obey, and those who don't. The wheat and the tears. The sheep and the goats.

What category will you fall in?

Will you continue to believe in contradiction to the Word of God?

How will you live your life from now on?

  • With the Faith OF Christ keeping the commandments

  • NOT like Christ, keeping mans commandments
